Equal Opportunist of the Day

The pictures do the talking, and however many pictures there may be in video stores or warehouses or online, they still don't have anything interesting to say. I am concerned, though, that they may make some people feel inadequate. As a conservative, I like to insist on equal opportunity, even if some do start off with more than others. —Matt Sanchez, Marine reservist, darling of the right and former porn star well endowed by his Creator, writing in Salon

Oh those compassionate conservatives! Even if Mr. Sanchez started life with more than others, he certainly wasn't giving it away. A date with Mr. Sanchez ran $200 a pop. (Uncut photos here.)

Yet for gays already in the military, or aspiring to be, Sanchez may have greased the chute, forcing the Pentagon to stretch its tight-assed "don't-ask, don't tell" policy a little wider. A couple of weeks ago John Hoellwarth reported in the Marine Corps Times that—

Officials at Marine Corps Recruiting Command were unable to say whether past participation in gay porn disqualifies a potential enlistee because it was unclear how the current “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy might apply.
